Body Power
Getting re-connected to your body
Imagine feeling totally present when being with your coachee, being able to not only totally focus on what they say, but also on what they are not saying but conveying unconsciously physically. ‘Body Power’ is about coming home into the body and consciously creating a state of flow and presence. The workshop is experiential and gently physical (suitable for all physical abilities) and you will leave the workshop more relaxed and centred.
You will
- Learn relaxing breathing exercises
- Re-connect with your body
- Feel centred and present, relaxed and alert
- Deepen your relationship with your coachee
- Be able to re-create this state when coaching
This workshop for coaches and trainers is about coming home into our bodies and being able to create a state of flow or being present in the moment. This state is so powerful when coaching as it enables us to totally focus on the client while listening to our intuition which often speaks or stirs through the body.
Presence is often quoted when we say someone is a powerful presenter or coach, but it seems an elusive concept. This workshop will give people some very practical exercises on how to create this presence, which is a strong connection between body and mind.
The workshop is experiential and gently physical. The workshop is based on several models:
- Mind, body and emotions are connected and one influences the other.
- NLP techniques
- Any behaviour consists of three elements: physiology, focus of attention and the language we use. In a state of flow or presence in the moment we will use a way of holding our body, of breathing as well as have a unique way of focusing on just what is in front of us (the client) and there is no internal dialogue.
- This state of heightened alertness of flow has been described by psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi who defined its nine components.
- The ancient art of Yoga
- Dance
Uta Langley, MBA, MAC, presenter
I have been coaching individuals for over 15 years and training coaching skills for the past 5 years. I have been training for over 20 years, have an MBA, am a qualified coach, NLP Practitioner, Master Practitioner and Trainer and have trained with some of the leading figures in the field like Robert Dilts, Judith DeLozier, Charles Faulkner, John Seymour and Sue Knight. I have been active in the personal development field for over 20 years going to many workshops from ‘Spiritual’ to ‘How to make money on the internet’. I tutor two Women into Enterprise courses at the University of Bath and have previously tutored their Coaching and Mentoring course in Swindon. I am passionate about learning and development and am constantly on the lookout for new ideas. Developing the Body Power workshop brings together my love of movement with coaching and training.
In January I went to India for my NLP trainer course and Yoga was an integral part of the course. One very early morning (4.30am-ish) I was lying on the cement floor of the Ashram and for the first time in probably 45 years my mind gently settled into my body and it was bliss. My mind and body being at the same time in the same place is an incredible feeling and stops any chatter in my head, which means I am clear thinking and deep feeling and just in the moment. I committed to invest time into keeping this feeling and am now doing Yoga every day and ensure I go dancing every week. I find that my coaching sessions and training events have improved and my stress levels reduced.
